2004 Committees |
| Executive Committee |
| Between meetings of the Allan Hancock College Foundation Board of Directors, the executive committee shall have and exercise the authority of the board of directors in the management of the corporation. The executive committee shall have and exercise such specific powers as prescribed by the bylaws or as directed by the board of directors. |
| Investment Committee |
| Between board meetings the investment committee shall track and review the investment portfolio. The committee will make recommendations to the board with regard to investment policies and actions. Subject to board approval, the committee shall exercise the powers of the corporation with regard to its assets and investments. The committee shall report at each regular board meeting concerning the income, expenses and investments of the corporation. The committee works in cooperation with the executive committee on the foundation annual budget, and the executive committee submits the budget annually for board approval. |
| Nominating Committee |
| The nominating committee shall be responsible for seeking out, screening, and proposing new or replacement directors, as well as officers, to be elected to the board of directors. At the annual meeting each January, the committee shall deliver a slate of officers and nominees to replace those directors whose terms will expire. If a vacancy should occur, the committee shall make a recommendation to the board of directors at the next quarterly meeting to fill the vacancy for the balance of the term available as a result of the specific vacancy. |
| Allocations Committee |
| The allocations committee works in concert with the college superintendent/president to recommend allocation of unrestricted funds to the board of directors within a framework determined by the college and the foundation. Currently, the responsibility of the allocations committee has been assigned to the executive committee. |
| Fundraising (Events)
Committee |
| The fundraising committee will develop ad hoc committees as the focus of the mission warrants.
The fundraising committee will also be responsible for identifying and chairing needed ad hoc committees to seek out contributors for specific projects, some of which may include challenge or matching grants, endowments, scholarships, faculty grants, capital improvements, in-kind and/or special events. |
| Scholarship Committee |
| The scholarship committee shall oversee the corporation's scholarship program and make recommendations to the board of directors on ways to improve the program's policies and procedures. The Allan Hancock College general scholarship committee shall be responsible for the selection of the scholarship recipients and make recommendations to improve the application process. As needed, the foundation scholarship committee will review waiver requests from student recipients, and authorize or deny approval of the request, as they deem appropriate. |
| 2004 Ad Hoc Campaign
Committee (Fundraising) |
| The campaign committee will provide leadership in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gift prospects. The committee will also be responsible for the leadership of a major or capital campaign if the full board authorizes the undertaking of a major campaign. The committee may be broken down into smaller sub-committees and additional community members may be invited on to the campaign team to assist with the effort. |
| Ad Hoc Planned Giving
Committee |
| The planned giving committee shall direct, oversee, and make recommendations to the board of directors with regard to the development of an active planned giving program on behalf of the foundation. |
