What is the AHC Foundation Scholarship Program?
- The scholarship program offers an easy and convenient way for donors to assist students who are committed to succeed and who are building their future at Allan Hancock College. A scholarship can also serve as a distinctive tribute, memorial, or legacy to honor a donor or a loved one.
- The foundation awards scholarships annually on a competitive basis to students continuing their studies at Allan Hancock College and to students transferring to four-year institutions.
The selection committee considers academic achievement, financial need, and student potential. Awards range from $300 to $10,000.
- Applications are available
in the fall, and are due at the Financial Aid Office by late November.
To be eligible, both transferring and continuing students must complete a specified number of units at Allan Hancock College while maintaining a minimum grade point average.
- Scholarship
selection is based on extensive review by the Scholarship
Committee, a broad-based group of college faculty, counselors, staff
and foundation members.
- Awards are announced at the annual Scholarship
banquet held in May. Donor payments to the foundation are
payable in April, and scholarship are disbursed to student recipients
upon verification of enrollment at Allan Hancock College or at the transfer institution.

Giving Opportunities:
Endowed scholarships live on in perpetuity. A minimum gift of $10,000 will establish an endowed fund. Only the income earned is awarded each year.
Annual scholarships are awarded each year and are renewable on an annual basis. A
minimum $250 gift will establish a named annual scholarship.
Gifts of less than $250 are pooled in a general scholarship fund if they are not directed to a specific, previously established scholarship.
The pooled funds are awarded annually in the name of "Friends of Allan Hancock College Scholarship."
Allan Hancock College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your contributions qualify for full tax benefits. Please consult your tax advisor for further information. |
May I name a scholarship in honor of someone?
Scholarships are often named for a family member, a friend, a community leader, an organization or special event. A permanent fund can ensure the provision of your scholarship over time through our endowed scholarship program. Annual contributions are also a way of supporting the scholarship program and honoring someone special.
